The historic Hot-Cha Cafe (also known as the Koffee Pot Cafe) is the last remaining example of programmatic architecture in Long Beach. This building is loved by residents, and we're proud to be a part of bringing back this 1932 restaurant on this neglected portion of 4th Street.

The Process:

We Are the Next evaluated the building, completed a historic preservation plan, and represented the property owner through the City of Long Beach Cultural Heritage Commission application process.

Project partners Salvage Devision and Pro Renovation Enterprises, along with We Are the Next, discovered the remains of a Victorian style home which stood on the site around 1910 in the attic of the circular coffee pot fronting 4th Street. Learn more about this discovery and plans for it on the Long Beach Post.

We Are the Next has been working as construction manager and historic preservation consultant on this project over the last several months, and will continue to work with project contractors and property owners in this capacity through project completion (estimated Summer 2016.)
